Corrections Policy

Errors are corrected openly, promptly and across every language we publish in.

Transparency

Corrections are never made silently. A corrected article carries a dated correction note describing what was wrong and what changed.

Across localizations

A correction applies to every localized version of the affected article. The correction record lists the locales it has been applied to, so a reader in any edition sees the same corrected record.

Severity

Minor typographical fixes are made without a note. Any change to a fact, figure, name, attribution or characterization is logged as a correction.

Where an error was materially misleading, the correction is surfaced at the top of the article.

Requesting a correction

Correction and right-of-reply requests are reviewed by the relevant desk and the Verification Desk. A verified editorial contact address has not been published yet; it appears here once established.
